JOB DESCRIPTION:
Software engineering to perform a major upgrade to Bell’s flight test analysis and safety-of-flight system, the Computer Aided Flight Test Analysis System (CAFTAS). This upgrade involves transforming the current human machine interface (HMI) from character cell to a more modern Windows interface.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will be responsible for contributing to all facets of the CAFTAS upgrade project. These tasks include gathering user requirements, writing requirements specifications, conceptual design, detailed design, software development, quality assurance testing, documentation, and production implementation. The primary focus of this upgrade is to convert the existing character cell user interface to a more modern and user friendly Windows interface. Although the presentation layer of CAFTAS is target for this upgrade, all layers of the system will be modified including the analysis/business and data layers. Extensive rework based on Object Oriented Design principles will be performed. The candidate will be required to coordinate with the user community and work in various capacities with other development team members.
