Job Summary:

Under general supervision, conduct design and drafting tasks that will include creating design layouts, creating

Product drawings and parts lists, creating component specifications, and creating schematics for new and

Existing products as required. Tasks will require working with managers, engineers, and other drafters.

Essential Job functions:

♦ Understand and comply with the requirements of the Management System.

♦ Work effectively with engineers, drafters, and other personnel as needed to create documentation for new

Products as well as supporting existing products.

♦ with limited assistance from other engineering personnel, prepare details, sub-assembly drawings,

assembly drawings and other engineering specifications necessary to manufacture prototypes and products

from sketches, marked prints, layouts or CAD models.

♦ Initiate required changes to engineering documents as instructed by engineers on Engineering Change

Notices.

♦ Perform tolerance analysis in keeping with drafting and standard engineering department practices and

Procedures.

♦ Meet deadlines set by a work schedule and advise manager of any problems such as backlogs and any other

potential schedule interruptions.

♦ Communicate improvements and suggestions to the department manager and/or other company

management.

♦ Understand what is expected of the position and take responsibility for doing top quality work.

♦ Adhere to safe practices and procedures.

♦ Assure that all work areas are free of clutter and that tools and equipment are properly stored.

Education and/or Experience:

♦ High school graduation or equivalent.

♦ Minimum two years drafting instruction and one year of college level math and drafting/CAD required.

♦ An associate's degree (Diploma Engineer) with 4 to 7 years or BE with 3 - 5 years experience in mechanical design and drafting using CAD is

Preferred.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

♦ Providing estimates of time required to accomplish a designated task.

♦ Familiarity with ASME Y14.5M-1994.
