TIPL (formerly GTC) this position will be located in Bangalore, India.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Tool Design Engineer will be responsible for designing press tools & flat patterns for sheet metal components, jigs & fixtures, plastic moulds, and digitizing existing tools and flat patterns for aerospace components. The engineer in this position will interact closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, and Inspection to create required tool designs in CATIA.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s in Production or Mechanical Engineering (B.E.) with at least 3 years of experience in Jig and Die design for sheet metal manufacturing and mould design for plastic components, or a Master’s Degree in Tool or Production Engineering (M.E. or equivalent) is required. Knowledge of CAD/CAM, and hands on design experience using 3D Solid Modeling and Surfacing using CATIA-V5 or similar CAD software is a must. Familiarity with ‘Alias Studio Tools’ or any freeform surface modeler will be a plus. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques for the Aerospace Industry is desirable. Familiarity with NC programming using CAM software will be a plus. Good written and verbal communication skills are a must. Ability and willingness to travel as business needs arise is a must.
