Responsibilities
·
Provides accurate and timely solutions to customer issues.
·
Desktop support on Linux as well as Windows
·
Lab setup as well as maintenance
·
Asset Management
·
Software and Hardware procurement.
·
Takes care of alerts in a timely manner and ensure that critical alerts
are escalated at the right time frame.
·
Responsible to understand and troubleshoot customer issues covering a
broad range of product areas
·
Documents top customer issues and works closely with escalation engineers
to facilitate successful knowledge flow
·
Clearly documents solutions to be published externally
·
Actively contributes to the success of the support organization
·
Novell CNE certified or Linux Certified (CLP,RHCE,
SUN)
·
Bachelor degree in a technical field or actively pursuing a technical
degree or equivalent experience.
·
Experience installing and configuring Novell products, Windows NT, 2000,
XP, and Linux/Unix.
·
Good knowledge of computer hardware and new
technologies
·
Good knowledge of networking such as Network Services, DNS/DHCP, IP
addressing, OSI layers, Trouble-shooting skills
·
Able to demonstrate ability to solve technical problems and issues.
·
Able to document processes for resolving specific technical problems.
·
Able to work cross-functionally within an organization.
·
Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and
written.
·
Able to troubleshoot and provide accurate and timely resolutions to
customer issues via telephone and electronic mediums.
·
Highly organized, punctual and has identifiable ability to prioritize
tasks and responsibilities, establishing goals on a continual basis in order to
facilitate completion of tasks and responsibilities.
·
Displays ability to understand team concepts, function as a team member
and develop and maintain an open line of communication with team members.
·
Able to demonstrate excellent customer skills and good communication
skills (written and verbal)

Troubleshoot and provide support for customer issues with Activation
·
Become familiar with and explain Novell Education requirements to
customers
·
Prior technical support experience
· MCSE, CCNA or RHCE certifications
