Job Purpose:

The role of the Senior Engineer in WiFi System Integration team is to primarily integrate the WiFi software, firmware on target platforms and make it available to various development and test teams. Senior Engineer in this role shall be responsible for integrating or developing platform specific components like device drivers, TCP/IP Stack components, UIs with software and firmware to deliver a complete system solution.Engineer shall be also responsible for providing support for appropriate tools like debuggers/compilers etc to development and test team.
A senior engineer in this role will take ownership of the certain module or a task quite independently. A senior test Engineer in this role is expected to have strong debugging,logical reasoning, analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Development and/or Integration of Platform specific components required for complete system testing
Development of appropriate UIs on target platform required to demonstrate the solution to customers
Integrate WiFi host software and firmware on target platform and test basic minimal sanity testing before giving it to System validation group for formal system testing.
Provide Support to internal development and system test/certification team for platform related issues
Develop appropriate development and debugging tools and scripts

Required:

Strong hands on experience with C/C++.
Proven experience of working on platform integration projects
Experience of development and integration with linux and embedded Operating systems like Android, Nucleus etc
Proven experience and understanding of software development tools and debugging techniques on embedded platforms
Good understanding of IEEE 802.11, TCP/IP and networking related concepts
Familiar with software engineering quality processes
Familiar with software engineering tools such as source code management systems(e.g. perforce, clearcase) and bug tracking tools
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A Keen learner, good team player, self starter, can work independently
Overall industry experience of 4 to 6 years

Desired:

Some experience of a scripting language like Perl, shell, TCL/TK
Familiar with makefiles, build system like GNU make systems
Experience in device driver and application development on Android operating system
Experience of firmware development for IEEE 802.11 products
Experience of technologies like BT, GPS etc
Familiar with Perforce
