Role : Sr. Software Testing Engineer
Location : Bangalore

Skills Required;
Skill Sets :
•    Should be able to understand the business functionality and features of the application completely.
•    Should be able to take part in the team meetings and understand the business requirements in terms of technology perspective say architecture , scalability, performance , etc.
•    Should have very good knowledge of software engineering principles.
•    Should have a very good knowledge of software testing methodologies.
•    Active contributor both in terms of following the existing process and also support in new process initiatives.
•    Should be able to write comprehensive test cases/test scripts
•    Should get involved in writing test plan for a project. When it comes to small projects or modules he should be able to derive his test plan.
•    Should be good in reviewing the test cases, requirements, test reports, etc.
•    Should be able to execute the test cases
•    Should be able to produce accurate test reports which are complete in all aspects.
•    Should have very good knowledge in using the defect tracking tools preferably Bugzilla.
Test Automation Tools and Platforms:
•    Should have excellent knowledge of automation tools like Rational/Mercury/OpenSource tools. The preferred automation tools are QTP, Selenium, Grinder, Loadrunner.
•    Should be an expert in using atleast one automation tool – functional and performance.
•    Should have very good knowledge Windows and Unix operating system
•    Should have knowledge of different browser versions.
•    Expertise in atleast one configuration management tool like VSS, CVS, etc.
Desired skills:
 
    Software engineering
    Software SDLC methodologies
    Testing web based application
    Test case documentation and execution
    Bug identification and Bug reporting
    Knowledge of one programming language – C , C++, Java, VB, ASP
    Very good awareness to Relational Database Model Concepts(RDBMS concepts)
    SQL and PLSQL
    Knowledge of Functional testing, Unit Testing, Integration Testing,
    Functional and performance automation
    Conceptual knowledge of security testing, Performance testing
    Expertise in atleast one test automation tool – rational, webload, silk and Win runner, etc)
    Ability to understand HLD and LLD the related documents to design(design documents)
    Business communication skills
    Familiarity with web based testing methodologies
    Understanding of OOPs / Object Orientation
    Understanding of use case documents and use case diagrams
