General Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include: managing software engineering teams developing high availability, C based L2/L3 Ethernet software as well as developing system infrastructure and embedded firmware for client routers and switches.

Ensures sound application of scientific and engineering principles that costs, time frames and approaches to meet objectives.

Maintains strong relationships with customer service, product marketing, and technical marketing to ensure designs meeting internal and external customer needs
-
Demonstrated skills managing software development programs from inception to release by following product life cycle processes and Extreme’s internal sw development process.

Implements QC/QA processes and metrics including: automated test plans, code release management, design for testability, Beta Test management, and bug tracking systems.

Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies to conform with ISO/TL standards.
Technical Experience and Knowledge:
-
Familiar with some protocols: STP, IEEE 802.1, 802.1P, 802.1D, 802.1W, 802.3ah, OSPF, IPv6, BGP, RIP etc..

Familiar with networking consumer and business solutions such as triple play (VoIP, IPTV, Internet), MPLS, Provider Bridging)

Interest in networking industry and standards body (MEF, IEEE, ITU, IETF) developments

Some understanding of management/integration protocols including: SNMP, WMI, J2EE, JDMK, JCE, JDOM, SOAP, XML, HTML, JSP
