Position Description: Roles and Responsibilities
This position is a leadership role within our India based QA organization with functional oversight of Decision Management QA teams. It reports directly to the US based Sr. Director -Global Quality Assurance. As the Senior Manager of this team you will lead by example, hiring, training, mentoring and managing resources to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and have enough technical knowhow and experience to manage each team member effectively.
This position will have 4-6 direct reports and will be directly managing a team of ~35. Responsibilities include
Understand the requirements and priorities of the business and stakeholders, directing the team accordingly.
Participate in the definition and implementation of software quality assurance processes across the organization in partnership with US and UK QA leaders.
Direct staff to set operational objectives and business goals for their groups, establish and monitor performance measures and objectives for the department and optimize resources.
Implement and oversee improvements to Quality policies, plans and procedures.
Establish overall Quality objectives and long-range goals as required. The successful candidate will notify Executive Management of significant quality or regulatory issues that may impact product quality or regulatory compliance.
Establish overall Quality Assurance organizational, managerial and accountability structures.
Direct and provide guidance on Quality matters, establish overall policies and philosophies of the group and serve as the final decision-maker and spokesperson in India for Quality operational issues as well as directing the quality review of the products, their associated documentation, etc.
Candidate Description: Experience and Qualification
Technical :
Must have at least 10 years commercial software QA experience and at least 5 years experience building and managing a large diverse technical team performing QA activities on high quality tier 1 enterprise software packages for a multi-national company.
A proven track record in quality software delivery at a senior level. With a very strong technical background, the successful candidate will be extremely well read on all aspects of software quality assurance and development and must have a deep practical understanding of commercial software development.
The candidate must have enough hands on technical knowhow to understand the issues faced by every member of the QA team.
Demonstrable project management experience in successfully delivering multiple testing engagements, preferably in a global organization
The candidate must have:
Experience of leading a large testing team and developing & implementing testing methodologies and strategies
Experience of automating functional and regression testing using industry standard tools and frameworks
A functional understanding of distributed and/or mainframe test environments
A high level of understanding of HP testing tools (e.g. Quality Center , QTP , Load Runner)
Experience of working in and an understanding of multi platform environments (Unix, mainframe, Windows).
Experience working with at least one of the major SQL database engines (Oracle, SQL Server or DB2).
Experience working in a services environment, delivering, mentoring and reporting against services managed under Service Level Agreements.
Knowledge of performance testing methods
