Experience & Qualifications:
This position requires a BS degree in engineering and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience. Or an MS and 3 to 6 years experience
Requirements:
L3 forwarding: IPv4
forwarding, TCP/IP/ARP/VRRP, IPv6, DHCP, IPv4 route tables (prefix based
forwarding etc.), IP mcast and L2 mcast (difference betn these 2), IGMP
QoS: concept of token
buckets, diff-serv, rate-limiting, rate-shaping, ACLs
Knowledge of HW/SW APIs,
resource allocation (TCAM, etc.) and packet forwarding path
Optics: various kinds of
optics etc.
Systems
Understanding and experience
in Platform Level verification in networking – an understanding of different
hardware blocks.
Conceptual understanding of
various components of a system, how is the system quality dependent on the
quality of components from which it is made
How system boots up, general
understanding of data plane/control-plan, how packets go from component to
component, how cards boot up, how
initializes, understanding of
Experience with Scaling,
Timing and Real Time system performance
Expert in either
Excellent analytical and
interpersonal skills
Energetic & can do
attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
Solid understanding of the
complete software development and support life cycle.
Strong background and
experience in software testing methodology, test development and test execution
and report generation
Reviewing and providing
feedback on product requirement documentation, functional specifications and
design specifications
Define comprehensive test
strategies and test plans based on evolving and changing product
specifications. Be able to develop and to execute feature/function, system
level tests
Hands on scripting experience
with TCL/Tk & Expect to automate test cases for network protocol validation
using external network devices
Enhancing the test automation
coverage of manual feature tests. Involvement in creating automation harness /
test automation suites.
Drive resolution of test
blockers and other software issues
Excellent debugging & troubleshooting skills.
