Job Description & Responsibilities:
· Be part of the evolving toolchain team at Cavium. Bring innovation and new features to the Cavium toolchain.
· Work on creating a FreeBSD targeted toolchain. Also contribute to the existing Linux toolchain.
· Add support for Octeon multi-core processors to GNU GCC compiler and Binutils. This includes new instructions, pipeline changes etc. Octeon is a fast evolving processor, which required constant toolchain optimizations.
· Implement and maintain multi-core debugging support. Enhance GDB to use Octeon specific multi-core debugging features.
· Implement and support profiling tools and methods e.g. profile feedback optimizations, oprofile and other Octeon specific profiling tools. Bring new tools to Cavium’s SDK to help customers optimize their code.
· Assist customers and other members of the Cavium team in profiling and optimizing their code.
