Senior Software Development Engineer
Job Details:
Location – Chennai, South India
Requirements:
This position requires a CS/CE/EE Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years or a Master’s degree with 4 to 7 years of of relevant technical experience. Technical leadership experience is highly desirable.
Experience in as many of the following embedded switching technology areas:
- L2 Forwarding, 802.3ad, 802.1ad, 802.1ah PBB, PBT, ELINE, ELAN, VPLS and MPLS.
- Knowledge of L2 Protocols such as 802.1d STP, 802.1w RSTP, 802.1s MSTP, IGMP snooping etc.
- L3 Routing IPv4, IPv6, ECMP and knowledge of L3 Protocols such as RIP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, PIM etc
- System features like ACLs, Link Aggregation, Mirroring, Rate Limiting and Rate Shaping.
- Linux or BSD Kernel.
- Excellent C programming skills is a must
- Integrating third party components and software, network processor microcode based development desirable.
- Developing highly available, resilient and scalable networks, and experience in optimizing such systems for performance.
- Understanding of Integrated solutions like L3 VPNs and IP TV
- Experience with Service Provider and an Understanding of Data Center technologies.
Following skills are desirable:
- Candidate must have a good understanding of the product release cycle, and technology and product boundaries in order to phase in complex functionality based on market timing and customer needs.
- Ability to architect, design, implement and maintain carrier class, service provider backbone and metro networks.
- Understanding of ISO and TL processes
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Some experience in Customer facing situations
