Job Description:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform Oracle Database Administration during Test / UAT and production cycles.
Troubleshoot Oracle RDBMS running on Unix platforms while complying with Oracle
guidelines and specific DBA Homeroom best practices.
Create, track and report on metrics used for capacity planning purposes. Analyze current
capacity and provide recommendations to support grow trends.
Perform database creation in support of new initiatives.
Perform schema changes required to support application release changes.
Perform routine database maintenance, such as space allocation and index rebuilds.
Perform backup/recovery of critical database components.
Conduct database performance tuning activities on a regular basis.
Provide 24X7 support for critical production issues. While on-call, the DBA must respond
to being paged within 15 minutes and be capable of logging in to supported databases
within 30 minutes.
Open SRs with Oracle for critical issues and provide them with all information required to
resolve the issue.
Provide after hours support for release installs and required on-going database
maintenance.
Make sure databases adhere to Security policies and procedures along with
DBA Homeroom Practices.
Develop and maintain Database DR procedures.
• Participate in DR testing to insure all databases can be recovered at the DR site while
meeting all RTO and RPO objectives.
