The Enterprise Software Asset Management – Sr. Consultant will be responsible for implementation and on-going maintenance and technical administration of global Software Asset Management reconciliation tools, supporting processes and operating guidelines; while helping to driving compliance of our enterprise and business unit contract agreements.
Primary responsibilities include coordination with other Software Asset Management members of the TIS - Strategy and Enterprise Initiatives Centers of Excellence for Client. Additionally, this person will work with CSC to ensure accuracy of Inventory Reporting within the Windows desktop/laptop, UNIX, Wintel, AS/400, VAX and Mainframe environments, SAM cost savings evaluations/tracking and performance of SAM to defined scorecard specifications, as well as oversee reconciliation and exception handling in adherence to license agreements, Client's SAM policy and operating guidelines.
The Enterprise Software Asset Management – Sr. Consultant will ensure timely reconciliation of purchasing and contract terms against the software inventory necessary to provide accurate compliance reporting and will work to ensure that SAM best practices are implemented and measured at their Business Units.
Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to SAM policies and procedures throughout the enterprise by conducting regular internal software audits/evaluations
As required, provided external audit support
Ensure Software Inventory database feeds are complete and accurate
Work with Infrastructure Center of Excellence on software deployment (Ex: SMS software packaging, SW tagging, media control, etc…)
Consult with Indirect Supply Chain on yearly maintenance agreements and software leveraging opportunities
Provide direct management (software check-in/check-out ; leveraging studies) on selected enterprise software
Required Skills and Qualifications:
College/University Degree
Software Asset Management:
3-5 years experience in managing/working in a Software Asset Management role for a large multi-national organization – required
Experience in implementing a Software Asset Management system (Ex: Evergreen, ManageSoft, etc…) - preferred
IT Technical Experience:
Application administration, system administration or related job function - preferred
- A good understanding of UNIX and Windows operating systems - preferred
- A good understanding of SQL and data access methods - preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with a team that is not physically collocated and that includes both Textron and non-Textron personnel
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Project Management experience
- Must be detail oriented and analytical
- Works independently
