Java Technical Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:-

Technical Managers play a critical role in the evaluation, configuration, customization, and implementation of leading portal, content management, eCommerce and application integration packages. Role to include but not limited to:

• Requirements definition, Design, Estimation
• Ability to Manage the team and deliver within the time frame.
• Development of detailed technical specifications for application components
• Coding of simple to moderately complex application using Java/J2EE components based on design specifications
• To coordinate and supervise the work of more junior team members.
• Performing testing maintenance and problem resolution on web applications
• Assisting in the knowledge transfer process for the client
• Creating basic entity relationship data models for a relational database
• Developing systems, writing and testing programs, testing sub-systems, identifying and resolving problems, and preparing systems for implementation
• Training on up-to-date industry and technical skills
• Researching technical and industry developments in competing technologies
• Creating basic functional, technical and/or end user documentation
• Implementing and deploying custom-developed and packaged solutions

Technical Skills and experience :-

• BE, B Tech, ME , M Tech ,B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent certifications & experience desired .
• A total of 10 – 12 years of Information Technology work experience.
• Willing to be a Technical Manager for a team with highly motivated and technical team members.  Able to perform Java/J2EE design and development work while leading such a team.
• Should be managing a team of 5/6 people for minimum of 3 years
• 6+ years of experience in  Java, J2EE, and Oracle development  (this is a must)
• 3+ years of experience in  J2EE and DB design (this is a must)

• Candidates with Sun Java Certifications will be preffered
• Strong experience in Java/J2EE programming technologies such as:
• Server-side component architectures using J2EE technologies
• Hands-on practical experience in Enterprise Portal/eCommerce/eBusiness/B2B application implementation with vendor packages such as BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Documentum, and Interwoven
• Strong hands-on practical experience in the following: Web Services, GWT, Oracle / SQL Server, and DB2
• Practical experience with Internet/Intranet/Extranet application design and development
• Practical experience with Mainframe, AIX , JCL and COBOL will be added advantage
• Process knowledge e.g. managing and tracking requirements, design, etc.
• Prior experience in leading a team to 5-7 persons would be good.
• Experience in systems analysis, architecture and programming.
• Has excellent communication skills. 
• Prior experience in .Net programming is an added advantage.
• Experience using Fair Isaac products (this is an added advantage)
