Description of Key Responsibilities and Duties:
· Implement and support physical and virtualized Windows Servers and supporting hardware in a redundant 24x7 datacenter operation.
· Support delivery of Windows and SQL Server based applications utilizing Citrix and Web based delivery running on VMware virtualization and SAN platforms.
· Must be able to quickly identify and remedy hardware problems with HP Intel or AMD-based servers and blade servers.
· SQL Server Systems Support, Maintenance, Performance Monitoring, and problem resolution.
· Serve as an escalation point for software or hardware problems within the datacenter environment.
· Schedule and execute software patch and firmware maintenance.
· Execute recurring systems checklists.
· Provide tactical and strategic input on overall systems planning and related projects.
· Timely completion of project deliverables, updating of project plans, analysis and gathering of business requirements, and working with the team to ensure successful project completion.
· Interface with vendors to coordinate resolution for hardware and software problems.
· Assist with maintaining Uptime and Performance Monitoring Systems.
· Implement and support data backup solutions including Disaster Recovery Plan support.
· Problem resolution for case escalations from Client Services group.
· Utilizing Change Management processes including approval and notification.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Must have an in-depth knowledge of current Microsoft Windows Server platforms.
· Strong of knowledge and significant past experience administering and troubleshooting applications based on Microsoft SQL Server.
· Experience delivering applications in a Citrix Metaframe or XenApp environment.
· Experience supporting Microsoft Network Services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
· Experience with managing implementations and tracking project deliverables.
· Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
· Preference will be given to candidates with experience managing Linux OS, Microsoft IIS, scripting tools, SAN and related fabric management.
· Must be able to create and maintain clear and easily understandable documentation of both the current and proposed states of systems.
· Minimum Physical, Visual, and Hearing Abilities: Must be able to lift 40 pounds at least 60 inches vertically without assistance. Must be able to interact with software and hardware to troubleshoot systems. Must be able to speak and write English fluently to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
· This is an on-call position and requires that the individual provide availability 24x7 while on rotation. A company cell phone is provided for this purpose.
Education, Training, Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in datacenter support.
MCSE and Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Current Citrix CCA certification, VMware VCP certification, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent experience and training is a plus.
