Position Summary
- To source Packing Materials and Raw Materials as per specifications and ensure timely availability of materials in his portfolio
- To identify and develop new vendors
- To improve supply reliability and reduce costs
- Build and Manage Vendor Relationships
- Accomplish all the above while following ISO processes
Key Responsibilities
- Packaging Materials Purchase.
a) Identify and track the various cost elements of materials procured
b) Track the price trends of key vendor inputs
c) Provide techno-commercial assistance to the SCM team in all price discussions
d) Independently manage prices for pre-agreed items
- Raw Materials Purchase (List provided by Manager-Purchase)
a) Identify and track the various cost elements of materials procured by him
b) Track the price trends of key vendor inputs
c) Independently manage prices for pre-agreed items
- Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) & MIS
a) MRP of Packing Materials.
b) Synchronization of Labels, Displays, Cartons and Stickers purchase to eliminate “Promotion Leftover” stocks.
c) Monthly and Weekly MIS reports in agreed formats
- General:
a) Timely release of delivery schedules, rolling forecasts, etc., to vendors and expedite the same
b) Accurate and organized documentation.
c) Timely and Accurate MIS. Also provide industry intelligence.
d) Manage Vendor Relationships

- Negotiation & language (English, Tamil & Hindi) skills
- Technical- Packaging trends, Costing Models, Vendor Capabilities etc
- Process knowledge of Raw Material and Packaging Material
