Job Description:
Responsibilities will include analyzing drawings for weight and inertial properties by examining the applicable drawings and part lists and creating and analyzing solid models in CATIA V4/V5. It will also be necessary for the engineer to analyze the generated data using proprietary tools to determine how the changes will affect the overall weight and center of gravity of the aircraft by examining the relevant engineering changes and how they interact with current standard aircraft and provide detailed reports on these changes regularly. Successful candidates will be required to complete a comprehensive schedule of training in the required tools and applications.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a preference for a Masters or equivalent.
2 years of engineering experience with Bachelors or 1 year experience with Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Proficiency using CATIA V4 and/or V5 (at least 40 hours of training and 100 hours of practical use) with a preference for VPM Proficiency.
Ability to read engineering drawings and part lists.
Proficiency in using the UNIX operating system.
Basic Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferably experienced with Object-Oriented Programming and relational databases
Preferably able to support engineering process improvements
Ability to think critically and pay particular attention to detail.
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
