Embedded Software Manager – LTE

Embedded software manager required for managing software development and testing of  3G/4G Base Station Controller software development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

• Provides management and direction to software engineers/leads
• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives
• Responsible for the management of resources and processes of the department
• Responsible for lifecycle management of the Software products including
  • Software Release scheduling, tracking and control
  • Assessing and acquiring required resources
  • Coordination of production releases that meet quality assurance standards
• Communication to senior management on release status, risk areas and issues

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics or Computer Science.

Experience

10 or more years of relevant experience of which at least 3 years in management role.

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Prior Experience in leading design and development teams for  software for Telecom systems
• Advanced knowledge of programming languages including C/C++ and structured and ohject oriented programming techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of  Linux Operating Systems and RTOS such as  VxWorks, CMX, ThreadX, pSoS.
• Experience with Networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP
• Experience with Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet the deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Technical leadership skills
• Strong People/Resource Management skills and experience
• Thorough knowledge of large software product lifecycle management including
  •  
    • SW Design and Development
    • Release procedures and control
    • Bug tracking
    • Validation and regression testing
    • Action Item management
    • Change Request management

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of the Wireless Telecom standards and protocols such LTE, UMTS, WiMax, WiFi, CDMA, GSM.
